Sin da molto giovane avevo già capito che il viaggio sarebbe stata la mia passione più grande. Da quando ho memoria sono sempre stato affascinato e attratto dalla scoperta e dall'esplorazione, dalle gesta di avventurieri d'altri tempi e della storia in generale. Così, l'accostamento della mia sete di avventura e di conoscenza al mondo della fotografia è avvenuto in modo del tutto naturale e consequenziale. Sentivo quel bisogno di volermi portare a casa in un qualche modo tutti quei posti favolosi che vedevo e tutte le irripetibili esperienze che vivevo. Ho quindi iniziato a viaggiare più che potevo in compagnia di una fotocamera compatta da pochi soldi, e poi, con il passare degli anni, sempre più lontano e migliorando la mia fotografia sia nell'attrezzatura che nella tecnica. Oggi, parecchi anni dopo, posso dire di aver visitato numerosi paesi tutti diversi tra loro, dai deserti, le medine e i siti archeologici del Medio Oriente, alle giungle e i templi del Sud Est Asiatico, la maestosità e l'umanità dell'India. Ho provato cosa vuol dire il "mal d'Africa" e la spiritualità dell'Himalaya, fino al Sud America e il caro vecchio continente... Ognuno di questi posti è stato unico, per diverse ragioni e spero in futuro di poter ampliare ulteriormente i miei orizzonti. Come viaggiatore e fotografo ho sempre messo da parte la comodità e il lusso per cercare di vivere al meglio e in modo più autentico possibile il paese in cui mi trovavo. Ho sempre cercato di coglierne l'essenza e creare dei reportage che riescano il più possibile a coinvolgere chi li guarda, cercando di far sentire le persone come se fossero state li con me. Quindi se guardando le mie fotografie sono riuscito a farvi sentire la sabbia di un deserto che vi soffia sulla faccia, l'umidità di una giungla tropicale o il fiato corto dei 6.000 metri, vorrà dire che ho raggiunto il mio scopo. Se invece sarà servito anche soltanto a farvi venire voglia di prendere e partire sono contento lo stesso! Since I was very young I had already understood that travel would be my greatest passion. Since I can remember I have always been fascinated and attracted by discovery and exploration, by the exploits of adventurers of other times and by history in general. So, the combination of my thirst for adventure and knowledge with the world of photography happened in a completely natural and consequential way. I felt that need to want to bring home in some way all those fabulous places I saw and all the unrepeatable experiences I lived. So I started to travel as much as I could in the company of a cheap compact camera, and then, as the years went by, further and further and improving my photography both in equipment and technique. Today, several years later, I can say that I have visited numerous countries all different from each other, from the deserts, the medinas and the archaeological sites of the Middle East, to the jungles and temples of South East Asia, the majesty and humanity of India. I have experienced what it means to be "longing for Africa" ​​and the spirituality of the Himalayas, all the way to South America and the dear old continent... Each of these places has been unique, for different reasons and I hope to be able to further broaden my horizons in the future. As a traveler and photographer I have always put aside comfort and luxury to try to live the country I was in as best and as authentically as possible. I have always tried to capture its essence and create reports that can involve the viewer as much as possible, trying to make people feel as if they were there with me. So if looking at my photographs I have managed to make you feel the sand of a desert blowing on your face, the humidity of a tropical jungle or the shortness of breath at 6,000 meters, it will mean that I have achieved my goal. If instead it has served even just to make you want to pack up and go, I am happy all the same!
